Shibori started in Japan and is known more for its tie dye quality. It is a dyeing technique that is used to resist dye. For example wooden blocks, nails, yarn or rubber bands can be used to prevent dye from coloring the material. Students will dye fabric, yarn and any pre-made works that they wish to dye using Pro MX dyes. Students will leave with an improved skill, knowledge of shibori, how to dye and will leave with a few pieces they can call works of art.
