Jeweler
I have always liked buttons new or old, and as most artists, I pick up interesting things wherever I journey. I love using something in a new way or not for what it was meant to be used for as with a button necklace. I also like putting something elegant next to something ordinary and somehow everything becomes elegant as a diamond next to a stone. After having to go on Permanent Disability, as low income goes, I needed a way to make a little extra money. The Woman’s Industrial Exchange was able to offer me such an outlet for my jewelry craft. Being on permanent disability limits how hard I can push or be ambitious about marketing and selling my work, but The Exchange has been able to do this for me. Baltimore has always offered me fond memories of The Exchange and my schooling at MICA – class of 1970.
